Not Just Make Eyes Literate, Coffee Also Make Memories Stronger
Jakarta, No doubt, coffee has become the most important choice for some people to delay sleepiness. But few know the benefits of others, especially for the brain. According to research, a cup of coffee every day can strengthen memories. This is evidenced in a research involving 100 people at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. The research results have also been published in the journal Nature Neuroscience. In research, some participants were asked to look at some images inside and outside the room. Around 5 minutes ago, some participants were given a caffeine tablet 200 mg or equivalent to a cup of coffee, and some once again given a blank tablet or placebo. Samples of saliva water were checked to measure the content of caffeine in participants' bodies, after 1 hour and 3 hours. Several participants returned to check their saliva samples on the next day after 24 hours. In the next day's control, some participants were again asked to look at the picture. Some of the images are old pictures that are shown one day first, and several more are added randomly until the numbers become more and more. When asked to identify where the old picture and the new image, the participants who get the caffeine tablet in the day beforehand are relatively more accurate in remembering. These findings prove that a cup of coffee can strengthen memory. "We are reporting for the first time that there is a special impact of caffeine that is less in 24 hours," said Dr. Michael Yassa who did the research as taken from the Daily Mail on Tuesday (14/1/2014).
